Valoryz frequently asked questions

During organic farming, we do not use synthetically produced fertilizers or pesticides. We work exclusively with preparations approved for organic farming by NÉBIH. Organic certification is verified and confirmed annually by an independent certification body.

Our rice is the Hungarian rice variety M-488, which belongs to the japonica subtype. It is a medium-grain variety with good yield, which we grow in the Körös valley, around Szarvas. Its taste is clean and neutral, making it versatile in the kitchen.

Even in conventional farming, we use very few pesticides. We do not work with insecticides at all; we only use herbicides in conventional farming, in the smallest possible quantities. In organic farming, no synthetic pesticides are used.

Rinse the rice, sauté it in olive oil, and add twice as much water as the amount of rice. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, and cover.

This rice variety belongs to the japonica subtype, like other European rice varieties, so they will not be as fluffy as Basmati or Jasmine rice, which are indica types with lower starch content.

Brown rice retains the rice bran, which, due to its higher nutrient content, is more favorable to storage pests than hulled white rice. For this reason, brown rice should be stored in a cool, dry place, preferably in an airtight container, and used within a shorter time after opening the package.

Our products do not come into contact with gluten-containing grains. The facility is 100% gluten-free, which we verify through continuous internal monitoring and external laboratory testing. The products are therefore safe for consumption by those with gluten sensitivity.

Ricely rice drink contains less than 5% added sugar. This ratio is significantly lower than most similar fruit drinks. Ricely’s sweet taste comes primarily from the fruits used.

Our millet is a Hungarian variety, white millet. Its taste is not bitter, and its texture after cooking is loose, making it well suited for use as a side dish, porridge, or for baking. It is gluten-free, so it can be incorporated into the diet of those with gluten sensitivity.

To reduce the environmental impact of our webshop, in some cases we use recycled or previously used cardboard boxes for the secondary packaging of orders.

The secondary packaging does not come into direct contact with the food; it only serves to ensure safe transport of the product. We inspect all cardboard boxes used, and only packaging material that is not contaminated and does not contain chemicals, oil, moisture, or any other substance that could indirectly compromise food safety is used.

Our rice and Ricely rice drink can be ordered directly from the valoryzmarket.hu webshop. In addition, our products are available in numerous domestic stores and webshops; you can find the current list of distributors on our website.

Yes, Valoryz rice is suitable for baby food. The product is 100% gluten-free and has low arsenic content verified by regular laboratory testing, the latter being a particularly important consideration for young children. For baby food, we recommend white rice, as brown rice may retain higher arsenic content in the bran layer.

Brown rice is the unhulled version: it retains the rice bran and germ, so it has higher fiber, vitamin, and mineral content. White rice is finely hulled, easier to digest, has a more neutral taste, and can be stored longer. Both are made from the same M-488 Hungarian rice variety, are gluten-free, and contain no additives.
